October was a big month for sweets, snacks and speaking out. Maud Borup President, Christine Lantinen, along with three other small business leaders, testified in front of the United States Congress in a hearing addressing “Global Supply Chains and Small Business Trade Challenges”. Christine spoke about some of the challenges small businesses currently face, along with ways for the government to help.
The top issues that were discussed were worker shortage, increased transportation costs, and issues getting goods unloaded off of ships sitting along the US coastline. The story was covered by CBS News WCCO.
We also spoke with Fox9 News about employee shortages and company growth.
As a passionate small business, we will continue to push through adversity because bringing happiness to the world makes it all worthwhile.
What We Do
We create seasonal sweets, snacks, and food gifts for retail partners and specialty stores nationwide. And because innovation and sustainability are as fundamental as quality and taste, most of our day-to-day operations culminate in a zero landfill waste facility.
